Construction Scheduled to Begin in Gladstone

Construction Scheduled to Begin in Gladstone

Construction for the new Lake Oswego Tigard Water Partnership’s Clackamas River intake pump station (RIPS) will start in the next few months.

Beginning in May 2013, the contractor will prepare the staging area for the RIPS upgrade.   The staging area will be located near the existing river intake pump station on Clackamas Blvd. near Portland Ave.  We expect that actual in-water construction will begin in July of this year.  The contractor’s work area will include construction fencing, some materials and equipment storage and construction trailers.  By July, a large crane on a platform will be located there as well, to enable the in-water work to take place.

A meeting with neighbors is planned for May 20.  For more information, visit the meetings page.

Geotechnical work near Waluga Reservoir

Geotechnical work near Waluga Reservoir

A Lake Oswego Tigard Water Partnership contractor will be conducting geotechnical investigations at the existing Waluga Reservoir on April 18 from 8am to 5pm. A rubber-tired backhoe will be used to conduct the work and will access the reservoir from Parkhill Street. This information will be used to make water quality improvements to the existing reservoir and enable better water control to and from the reservoir.

Also, the land use application for the reservoir will likely be re-submitted in early June with an anticipated public hearing date in late summer.

Expect to hear noise from jack-hammering to break up the concrete and from loading concrete into the truck. West Linn’s stipulated hours of work will be observed. Thank you for your patience during this operation.
