With so many emergencies and disasters occurring across the country, it’s crucial that we all need a basic emergency kit. September is National Preparedness Month, so it's a good time to take stock and get ready.

Fortunately, pulling together the needed supplies isn't rocket science, and you're probably more prepared than you think. Get started by checking out this helpful checklist. Then take stock of what you already have around the house and put it in an easy-to-carry container. Finally, add the remaining items to your shopping list and pick up an item or two each time you go to the store.

WTP Neighbors Celebrate Their New Pedestrian Pathway

On Thursday, August 31, the Partnership hosted a well-attended, fun-filled community event with water treatment plant neighbors, young and old. More than 175 people gathered to celebrate the official opening of the new neighborhood pathway and newly built public areas, along with the long-awaited end of construction. Neighbors enjoyed a scrumptious BBQ dinner, provided by Mission Bar-B-Que, whose proceeds go to support the work of Portland Rescue Mission.
