River Intake Pump Station Construction Update

A rig drilling piles into the ground at the RIPS

To support the future River Intake Pump Station (RIPS) access bridge from bank erosion, 27 piles are being drilled into the ground at the RIPS site in Gladstone. This work will continue over the next three weeks. Work involves drilling deep holes into the ground, filling them with concrete and reinforcing them with steel beams.

Excavation of the cofferdam is now complete. Over the next three weeks, drilling equipment will begin installing 14 rock anchors in the bottom of the cofferdam, to support the foundation and improve seismic stability of the RIPS.

During this work, neighbors can expect noise and truck traffic as drilling occurs and equipment arrives to the site. Generally, during the next three weeks, work hours will be 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday to Saturday.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
