River Intake Construction Update

A concrete foundation is being poured at the bottom of the cofferdam

Work is continuing on drilling 27 piles into the ground at the river intake pump station (RIPS) site to support the future access bridge. This should be complete by next week.

All 14 rock anchors have been installed in the bottom of the cofferdam to support the foundation and improve seismic stability. This week a concrete slab was poured over the anchors, as part of the foundation of the RIPS.

Forms for the RIPS walls were delivered today. These will be installed over the next two weeks around the reinforced bar that is now in place within the cofferdam. Once the wall forms are in (about two weeks), a large concrete pour will occur. After the pour, the wall forms will be removed. This work will continue over the next month.

During this work, neighbors can expect noise and truck traffic as pile drilling continues and concrete trucks arrive at the site. Generally, during the next three weeks, work hours will be 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with no Saturday work expected.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
