River Intake Construction Update

The wall forms being installed at the bottom of the cofferdam

To support the future access bridge, all 27 piles have now been drilled and installed in the ground at the river intake pump station (RIPS) site.

Work is now continuing on the forms for the RIPS walls and placement of reinforced bar in the bottom of the cofferdam. A large concrete pour is scheduled to occur around the wall forms the week beginning December 2. This should take about one day. After the pour, the wall forms will be removed from the bottom layer and reinstalled above the concrete. This work will continue over the next month.

During the concrete pour, neighbors can expect some noise and an increase in truck traffic as 12-15 concrete trucks arrive at the site. Generally, during the next three weeks, work hours will be 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with no Saturday work expected. No work will occur on Thanksgiving Day or the Friday after.
