Survey Work in Downtown Lake Oswego
Beginning next week, survey crews will be working along part of A Ave, 9th Street and B Ave in Lake Oswego. They will be marking locations of underground utilities on the sidewalks and streets.
This work is needed to investigate an alternative pipeline route for a portion of the Lake Oswego Tigard Water Partnership pipeline project. The original planned route included tunneling pipe from Erickson and McVey Streets, south of Oswego Lake, under the lake to Cabana Lane, and then trenching pipe along Evergreen Road to Chandler Road. The Partnership is reviewing new alignments around the lake to keep costs controlled since proposals received for tunneling significantly exceeded cost estimates. Part of the new alignment will include constructing a new pipeline on A Ave from Chandler Road to 9th Street, 9th Street from A Ave to B Ave and B Ave from 9th to State Street.
Expect to see surveyors with equipment on the side of A Ave, 9th Street and B Ave the street as they travel along the route. Survey work is expected to continue through mid January 2014. The work will occur between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. No lane-closures are anticipated. Please watch for temporary safety signs, stakes and cones.
