Water Treatment Plant Construction Update

Placing electrical conduit in the ballasted flocculation, prior to pouring concrete base slabs

This week at the WTP, crews have been busy forming walls and pouring concrete for base slabs in the clearwell, placing electrical and control conduit in the ballasted flocculation base and excavating next to the west of the lagoon area.

Next week, auger cast pile drilling will resume for new foundations including the gravity thickener and solids storage tank structures, along with the foundation for the second tower crane.

In late March, the second tower crane will be installed, located on the west of the site. Pre-work will be occurring over the next few weeks to prepare for crane assembly and the foundation.

Although there are no anticipated “new” activities or new sources of noise or vibration, neighbors can expect some noise and potential vibration during the auger cast drilling, concrete work and excavation, depending on locations or personal sensitivities. Also, there will be an increase in truck traffic with concrete trucks and dump trucks hauling spoils off site during the concrete pouring.

After daylight savings begins, work hours will be increasing Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., which are allowed within the conditions of approval for the project.

For more detail about what activities are happening on site please read more to see the table below.

We apologize for the inconvenience construction may cause and thank you for your patience as work progresses.
