Water Treatment Plant Construction Update

Forming walls in the clearwell

Forming walls in the clearwell

Work is progressing well on forming and pouring concrete for new structures at the water treatment plant. Concrete slabs in the clearwell and ballasted flocculation were completed this week. Over the next few weeks, work will continue on the walls, columns and suspended roof for the clearwell and walls for the ballasted flocculation.

The auger cast drill rig has been busy installing piles for new structures on the northeast of the site for the solids area. About 400 auger cast piles out of the 1,100 have been installed to date!

The piles and concrete placement for the second tower crane foundation are now installed. Crews will begin assembling the westerly crane the week beginning March 24.

Neighbors can expect some noise and potential vibration during the concrete sandblasting, auger cast drilling and fill placement, depending on locations or personal sensitivities. Also, truck traffic will increase during concrete pouring.

Work hours are Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., which are allowed within the conditions of approval for the project.

For more detail about what activities are happening on site please see the table below.
