Pipeline Construction Update: Lake Oswego

Pipeline installation progresses along Iron Mtn. Blvd. near Berwick. The large mass between the two workers is not the bucket of the excavator, but a large boulder!

This update includes construction work in the following areas. Scroll down for specific information on each location:

  • Douglas Circle
  • Twin Fir Road
  • Upper Drive
  • Iron Mountain Boulevard
  • State Street/McVey Ave.

For the most up to date information on construction and road closures, please visit work underway, call the hotline on 503-697-6502 or contact us.

Douglas Circle – pipeline construction complete one week early!

Some equipment remains for now and restoration will continue to occur in Douglas Cir. with limited traffic flagging. Paving will occur on the remainder of Lanewood St. and on Douglas Cir. as weather improves.

Twin Fir Road – pipeline construction underway

Twin Fir Rd. is currently closed to all through traffic during work hours except school buses and emergency vehicles.  Please obey traffic signs and detours in place around Twin Fir Road.

Upper Drive – pipeline construction starting next week!

Next week, crews will sawcut the asphalt and start installing pipeline on Upper Dr. Pipeline construction will occur through mid-May and will require a full road closure. During work hours, traffic will be detoured around this section of  Upper Drive. About a dozen residents on Upper Dr., between Twin Fir Rd. and Fir Grove Court, will be connected to a temporary water line next week, requiring a short-term water shutoff. These residents will receive postcards and door hangers soon with more specific information.

Iron Mountain Boulevard – pipeline construction underway

A crew is progressing west on Iron Mountain Blvd. installing 42” pipe near Berwick Road. Work on Iron Mountain Blvd. will continue through summer. Single lane closures are currently in place with flaggers, but by mid-May, Iron Mountain Blvd.  between Fairway Road and Summit will be closed to through traffic during work hours. To view the latest road closures and construction activity, visit the work underway map. Expect delays of up to 15 minutes on roads on or near the construction. The best way to avoid delays is to find an alternate route around the construction.

State Street/McVey – Night Work: exploratory digging and geologic investigations in May

Throughout May, crews will be working at night to investigate utility locations along the proposed water pipeline route on the east side of State Street, between B Ave. and the railroad tracks near Foothills Rd., along McVey Ave., between State Street and Erickson St. and on private properties (Albertson’s shopping area). Crews will also conduct exploratory drilling to investigate geological conditions.

We apologize for the inconvenience this work may cause and thank you for your patience as construction progresses.
