Exploratory Digging Work - Hwy 43

Vacuum trucks similar to this will be used

Between Laurel St., Lake Oswego and Mapleton Drive, West Linn

Beginning late next week and continuing through June, crews from the Water Partnership project will be digging small holes in the roadway on Highway 43 locating underground utilities and pipes, to ensure the pipeline route has no conflicts with existing utilities.

Most of the work will occur during the day between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday to Friday. Some work within the intersections on Hwy 43, will occur at night between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. There will be single-lane closures where needed, to accommodate equipment but no total road closure.

Please watch for flaggers and expect some temporary delays during work hours. Residents and businesses may experience some noise from a drill rig or vacuum truck during these operations.

Workers will use a vacuum truck, small drill rig and small excavator, digging holes 50 to 150 feet apart as they travel along the pipeline route. Holes and patches will be repaired as work progresses.
