River Intake Pump Station – deck and wall forming continues
Crews installed plumbing and rebar for the 56’ deck this week. Today, a large concrete pour occurred for the 56‘ deck. Work will begin on forming elevation 67’ walls on Monday.
Two more large concrete pours are scheduled to occur over the next few weeks, one for the permanent access bridge on Tuesday, June 3, and one for the 67’ walls on Monday, June 9.
Neighbors can expect some noise and increased truck traffic during the concrete pours, as
10 -12 concrete trucks come and go. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday, with some Saturdays.
W. Clackamas Blvd., Bellevue Ave. and W. Exeter St. – survey work next week & exploratory digging delayed to mid June
Next week, crews will be surveying along the side of the roadway on Clackamas Blvd, Bellevue Ave and Exeter St, before pipeline construction begins. Exploratory digging in the roadway to locate underground utilities and pipes has been delayed until mid-late June. Work hours will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday. Expect to see some single lane closures with flaggers during work hours. Residents may experience some noise from a drill rig or vacuum truck during the digging.
Meldrum Bar Park – horizontal directional drilling (HDD) site preparation starting next week
Starting next week, crews will begin preparing the HDD site in Meldrum Bar Park for construction. This includes installing erosion control fencing, security fencing, an office trailer and mobilizing drilling equipment. Signage has been installed through the park and will be placed on the fencing of the staging area.
Drilling work is expected to begin from June 11, including installing a pipe casing prior to drilling the tunnel under the river. During casing installation, it will be very noisy for approximately ½ hour periods between 9 a.m. and mid-afternoon, depending on neighbor locations. Following each ½ hour period, there will be a couple of hours of welding, which is not as noisy. This work is expected to take about 2 weeks to complete. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Microtunneled pipeline under McLoughlin Blvd. and River Rd. – beginning in July
Beginning in early July, crews will begin excavating and building an entry shaft for the
microtunneled portion of the pipeline that will be installed under McLoughlin Blvd. and River Rd. The entry shaft will be located on the pedestrian path on Jensen Road near River Rd. Park pathway access at this location will be closed during construction of the micro-tunneling and the installation of the trenched pipeline. Read more about microtunneling here.
We apologize for any inconvenience work may cause and thank you for your patience as construction progresses.
