Bonita Pump Station Construction Update

Crews begin excavation for the meter vault

Last week, crews removed rock and debris from an old road bed within the vegetative corridor around the wetlands.

Over the next two weeks, soil testing will be completed to check for nutrients to see which soil amendments are needed for the corridor before planting occurs in October. The split rail fencing around a portion of the site (to match the fencing along a portion of the frontage in Bonita Park across the street) will also be installed. Irrigation for the vegetated corridor will also be put in place.

Excavation for the meter vault near the front of the site has begun. Vault forms and rebar will be placed then concrete will be poured. The site for the generator pad will also be graded and formed and electrical conduits will be installed. Concrete for the generator pad will then be poured. Neighbors can expect to see two to three concrete trucks and typical site activity with excavators and dump trucks. Watch for flaggers as equipment and trucks enter and exit the site.

Thank you neighbors for your patience as construction progresses.
