Reservoir site work: Forming Slabs and Footings, Installation of Water Line Along Access Road
Work continues on encasing pipe on the reservoir site. This activity includes excavating, placing pipe and embedding some pipe in concrete. Installation of slabs and footings for the reservoir foundation continues. Crews will finish installing the storm drain line up the access road, off Carman Drive this week. Next week, they will begin installing the water line up the access road. Starting July 28, on-site storm system laterals will be installed. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Carman Drive Roadwork
NW Natural is expected to pave its gas line trench on Carman Drive near the WR2 site early next week. Poles needed for the temporary traffic light will be delivered early next week and be installed over the following two weeks. For 2-3 days prior to the signal activation, drivers will see a flashing yellow light and signage alerting them to the upcoming traffic control device. New pavement striping will occur next week for the new traffic signal/turn lane configuration. Traffic control will be in place for this wor, so please watch for flaggers.
Douglas Way Pipe Work is Progressing
Douglas Way remains closed to through traffic between Hallmark Drive and Quarry Road through late July for pipe installation and trench paving. Please watch for signage directing you to appropriate detours. Crews have now reached the Lake Grove Elementary School parking lot and will continue down the driveway toward Boones Ferry Road, finishing before September 2 before school resumes.
East Waluga Parking Lot Paving
Starting July 31, the East Waluga Park parking lot will be paved. During paving, the parking lot will be closed for two days, including overnight.
We apologize for any inconvenience this work may cause and thank you for your patience during construction of this important water storage project.
