Final paving begins
Last week, East Waluga Park parking lot, Quarry Road, Douglas Way and the Lake Grove Elementary parking lot were paved. Starting Friday, August 15, Lanewood St., the southerly leg of Douglas Circle and Twin Fir Road will be milled, in preparation for paving on Monday and Tuesday of next week. During paving, there will be periods where roads are temporarily closed to all traffic, so the new pavement can dry.
Estimated dates for paving on other streets are shown in the chart to the right, weather permitting. Residents located along the pipeline alignment will receive a door hanger notifying then of the dates for paving on their street.
Iron Mtn. Blvd. progress
The westerly crew continues to install pipeline on Iron Mtn. Blvd. and should complete its work within two weeks. One lane is currently open on Iron Mtn. at all times, however, expect delays up to 20 minutes during work hours (7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday). Paving is scheduled to occur on Iron Mtn. Blvd late August through early September. Iron Mtn. will remain open during paving, however there will be single lane closures to accommodate equipment and paving operations.
A reminder to pedestrians, runners and cyclists to make eye-contact with a crewmember and signal your presence before proceeding along the Iron Mtn. pathway if construction is nearby.

B Ave. storm drain construction expected begins next week!
Construction of the new, larger storm drain pipeline will begin on Monday, August 18. During construction hours, one block and one intersection along B Ave. will be closed at a time to accommodate this work. The work will start at State and B and move west to 7th Street. Construction hours are 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday to Friday. There is potential for up to two nights of construction in State Street over the next two weeks. This work would occur between 8 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. Pedestrian access to all businesses will be provided within the one block work area, but no on-street parking will be available in the closed area. Parking is available on side streets and outside the work zone on B Ave, as well as in City parking lots downtown.
Laurel St. pipeline construction starts next week!
Construction detour signs were placed near the work areas this week and crews began saw cutting asphalt on Laurel St. Construction is expected to begin on Laurel at the intersection with Hwy. 43, on Monday, August 18. During construction, Laurel will be closed to through traffic between Hwy. 43 and Hallinan St from 7 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday to Friday. Depending on pipe delivery, a second crew is expected to begin laying pipe in Erickson Street in early September.
Hwy. 43 pipeline construction (night work) – expected to start in mid-September
Crews are expected to begin laying pipe on Hwy. 43 near Laurel St, in mid-September. Work will progress south towards West Linn. All work on Hwy. 43 will be conducted at night between 8 p.m.-5 a.m. In most areas on Hwy. 43, two way traffic will be maintained during construction. All lanes of traffic will be open during the day.
