Bonita Pump Station Construction Update

The native plants and grass mix placed several weeks ago continue to flourish.

Crews prepare electrical conduit ducts for installation.

Crews will begin to install 24 in. piping the last week in October.

Electrical Conduits & Concrete Pouring

Electrical conduit ducts are being installed between the generator and the future pump station building and should be completely connected by early next week. Today, the generator pad will be formed and poured, while building pad electrical conduits continue to be installed.

Pipe Installation

Beginning the week of Oct. 27, a lot of on-site plumbing work will be underway to install portions of the 30 in. intake piping at the pump station. Crews will also begin installing 24 in. piping, working their way from the station towards the road. These pipelines connect the pump station to existing pipelines in Tigard. Expect to see a few trucks during the day carrying equipment around the site.

In mid-November, expect to see crews begin night road work as they start to lay piping along Milton Court, between the pump station site and Bonita Road. Road work is expected to last about one month. During this time, Milton Court will be restricted to one lane and flaggers will be directing traffic.

Thank you for your patience as construction progresses.

About Bonita Pump Station

The Bonita Pump Station will connect with several local water systems including Lake Oswego, Portland and Washington County. This supply collaboration will keep Tigard protected should one water supply become interrupted. Completion is expected in summer, 2015.

Did you know? Your new water system’s storage reservoirs are all covered, meaning fewer opportunities for contaminants to enter the system.
