Iron Mountain Boulevard; Twin Fir, Upper pavement striping and miscellaneous work
Striping on Iron Mtn., Twin Fir, Upper Drive and Chandler Road will be done when the weather improves. Miscellaneous repairs will occur over the next couple of weeks as work in these areas wraps up. Please watch for flaggers as work occurs.
State Street/B Ave. intersection - storm water pipeline installation (night work)
Nighttime pipeline work across State Street and B Avenue began last week. The crew has had to work around a 12 in. water line that is located further into the trench than previously thought. The work around could add a few days to the schedule in this area. Pipeline installation work hours are from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday - Thursday, continuing for about two weeks. Two lanes will remain open on State Street but please watch for flaggers. The City owned driveway on the east side of State Street will be closed during evening construction hours.
Laurel St. between Hallinan and Hwy 43 pipe work continues; Laurel Narrows main line pipe work is complete.
Work in the Laurel Narrows is now complete. Pipe installation continues east along Laurel Street, between Hallinan and O’Brien Streets. Laurel Street, between Highway 43 and Hallinan continues to be closed to through traffic 24 hours per day, to ensure safety. Local traffic, deliveries, garbage collection, and mail delivery will continue during construction at the west end of the closure.
Highway 43 night time construction began this week.
Pipeline installation work on Highway 43 began November 2 at the intersection of Highway 43 and Laurel Street, and is progressing south toward West Linn.
Construction work hours are Sunday night to Friday morning between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. In most areas on Highway 43, two-way traffic will be maintained during construction, except in narrow areas (for example, between Laurel and Cherry Lane). All lanes of traffic will be open during the day. The contractor has now moved their staging area off Laurel Street and onto Highway 43 to make it quieter for Laurel Street neighbors. The first segment near Laurel is going slowly as smaller sections of curved pipe are used to move the pipe alignment from one side of the road to the other.
