Bonita Pump Station Construction Update
Electrical Conduits & Pipe Installation
At the site, electricians are busy working on conduits under the pump station building pad and crews are installing water piping and encasements. Next week, crews will also begin installing 24 in. pipe onsite, working their way towards the meter vault. These pipelines connect the pump station to existing pipelines in Tigard.
Night Construction on Milton Court
In mid-December, expect to see crews begin night road work as they start laying piping along Milton Court, between the pump station site and Bonita Road.
During the second week of December, crews are set to complete exploratory potholing on Milton Court during the day, followed by a brief, one night water shut off for crews to complete a 12 in. pipe tie-in on Bonita Road. This night shut-off will only last about eight hours and will not affect any residences. The City of Tigard will deliver door hanger notices to those few businesses that will be affected.
Beginning the third week in December, Milton Court will be restricted to one lane at night and flaggers will be directing traffic. Road work is expected to last about one month.
About Bonita Pump Station
The Bonita Pump Station will connect with several local water systems including Lake Oswego, Portland and Washington County. This supply collaboration will keep Tigard protected should one water supply become interrupted. Completion is expected in summer, 2015.
Did you know? Your new water system’s storage reservoirs are all covered, meaning fewer opportunities for contaminants to enter the system.
