Waluga Reservoir 2 (WR2) Construction Update

Crews are planning to pour the WR2 roof on Tuesday, Nov. 18 beginning at 8 a.m.

On Saturday, Nov. 15, roof supports will be finished in preparation for the roof pour.

Roof Pour

Crews have almost finished installing the last of the steel roof supports on the WR2 roof dome, and, on Tuesday, Nov. 18 from about 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., the roof will be poured using 331 cubic yards of concrete. During this time, approximately 30 trucks will be accessing the site to deliver the concrete. A flagger may be used at times to help direct traffic as the trucks move in and out of the site, but delays should be kept to a minimum.

Saturday Roof Construction & Excavation

In order to stay on schedule, crews will work on the roof supports on Saturday, Nov. 15 from
8 a.m. to 6 p.m. This work is being done in preparation for the final roof pouring on Tuesday, Nov. 18. Also on Saturday, crews will continue excavating the pipe vault and crushing rock to use as backfill. The noise levels are expected to be the same as during a typical work day during the week.
