Iron Mountain Boulevard, Twin Fir Road, Upper Drive - pavement striping and miscellaneous work

Striping on Iron Mtn., Twin Fir, Upper Drive and Chandler Road will be done when the weather improves. Miscellaneous repairs continue over the next few weeks as work in these areas wraps up. Please watch for flaggers as work occurs.

State Street/B Avenue intersection - sidewalk construction

The majority of storm pipeline work has been completed. Over the next few weeks, crews will be installing new sidewalks and ADA ramps along State Street and B Avenue. Demolition of the old sidewalks will be done at night, while the new sidewalks and ramps will be poured during the day. Nighttime work hours are from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday – Thursday. Two lanes will remain open on State Street, but please watch for flaggers.

In the next few weeks, the City-owned driveway on the east side of State Street will be repaved as well where the storm water pipeline was installed.

Laurel Street Closure between Erickson and Hallinan Streets

Crews are working in and near the intersection of Laurel and Hallinan Streets as well as the eastern end of the Laurel “Narrows” to install the last remaining steel pipe, complete a large pipe connection, install vaults, and place temporary paving. This week, Laurel Street (the Narrows) between Erickson and Hallinan Streets has been closed to through traffic to maintain safety. Crews expect to open the Narrows by the end of tomorrow, however, flaggers will guide traffic through the work zone while the final pipe work is completed next week. Please expect some temporary delays.

With the majority of the pipe work done, crews are beginning to remove equipment and materials from Laurel Street. Most of the equipment should be removed over the next few weeks, however, some will remain in order to apply temporary paving and complete some smaller projects along Laurel Street. During these times, single lane closures will be in place with flaggers, but no full street closures are anticipated.

Restoration and final repaving of Laurel Street is expected to occur when weather improves, in the spring or early summer of 2015.

There will be no work on Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving or Saturday, Nov. 29.

Highway 43 nighttime construction continues near Burnham Road

Pipeline installation work on Highway 43 began in early November at Laurel Street, progressing south towards West Linn. Crews are currently working near the intersection of Burnham Road and Highway 43. As part of night construction, next week crews will also install an air vault on Highway 43 between Laurel Street and Burnham Road.

Most major work is occurring at night from Sunday night to Friday morning between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. Per ODOT approval and to minimize nighttime noise, most asphalt saw-cutting is occurring a couple times a week during the day, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. In most areas on Highway 43, two-way traffic is maintained, except in some narrow areas where one lane is open at a time.
