Waluga Reservoir 2 (WR2) Construction Update

Crews poured the WR2 roof on Tuesday, Nov. 18.

Crews poured the WR2 roof on Tuesday, Nov. 18.

The WR2 roof was formed using 331 cubic yards of concrete.

Roof Pour Now Complete

Crews finished installing the last of the steel roof supports on the WR2 roof dome and, on Tuesday, Nov. 18, successfully poured the roof using 331 cubic yards of concrete! During the next few weeks, crews will form and set roof hatches.

Pipe Vault Excavation

Over the next few weeks, crews will continue excavating the pipe vault connecting Waluga Reservoir 1 and Waluga Reservoir 2, and crushing rock to use as backfill. During this time, there may be an increase in noise levels at the site.

Construction work hours

Construction work hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday. There will be no work on Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving or Saturday, Nov. 29.
