Iron Mountain Boulevard, Twin Fir Road and Upper Drive - pavement striping delayed
Striping on Iron Mountain, Twin Fir, Upper Drive and Chandler Road will be done when the weather improves. However, crews will place some temporary paint to make the lanes and fog lines more visible in the next week, until the final striping can be completed. Please watch for flaggers and cones during this work.
Pipe Disinfection at East Waluga Park parking lot
In early January, crews will begin a week-long pipe disinfection process centered in East Waluga Park parking lot near Quarry Road. Pipes will be flushed with chlorinated water and then tested to ensure the waterlines are clean. This is a typical procedure done to pipes before they are put into use. During this time, East Waluga Park will be closed to the public to maintain safety, and neighbors close to the park may notice a chlorine odor in the area, similar to a public swimming pool.
State Street/B Avenue intersection - sidewalk construction and improvements complete
Crews have installed new sidewalks at the intersection of State Street and B Avenue. Over the next few days, crews will finish up in the area before the holidays by removing equipment and materials. Crews will return in the New Year to finish some driveway repairs and catch basins.
In observance of Christmas and New Year’s, crews will work Dec. 22-24, with a half-day on Christmas Eve, and Dec. 29-31, with a half-day on New Year’s Eve. Have a happy and safe holiday season!
Highway 43 nighttime construction - continues near Glenmorrie Drive
Pipeline installation work on Highway 43 is progressing south towards West Linn. Crews are currently installing pipe near the intersection of Glenmorrie Drive at a brisk pace of about 100-150 feet each night (pictured above). Once pipe work is complete next year, crews will repave the roadway where the pipe was installed.
Most major work is occurring at night from Sunday - Thursday between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. Per ODOT approval and to minimize nighttime noise, some asphalt saw-cutting on Highway 43 in Lake Oswego is occurring sporadically throughout the week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. In most areas, two-way traffic is maintained, except in some narrow areas where only one lane can be open at a time.
This week, a second crew began installing pipe at the intersection of Highway 43 and Mapleton Drive in West Linn (pictured above), working north towards Lake Oswego. Work hours are Sunday to Thursday, 8 p.m. - 5 a.m.
In observance of Christmas and New Year’s Day, Highway 43 night crews will only work Dec. 21-23 and Dec. 28-30. Have a happy and safe holiday season!
Chandler Road/A Avenue - pipeline installation expected to begin in mid-February
Pipe installation at Chandler Road and 10th Street, is expected to begin in mid-February. Crews will lay pipe from Chandler Road to 10th Street, along A Avenue; between 10th and 9th Street; 9th Street between A and B Avenues; and, then down B Avenue, between 9th and State Street. Work hours on A Avenue, between 10th and 9th Streets, will be from 8 p.m. – 5 a.m. to minimize traffic impacts.
