East Waluga Park parking lot - pipe disinfection
Crews have finished the pipe disinfection process centered in the East Waluga Park parking lot. Next week, pipes will be flushed with fresh water and then tested to ensure the pipelines are clean before they are put into use. The water will pass through a dechlorinator on Chandler Road before it is pumped into the wastewater system. Access to the park and parking lot is now open.
Iron Mountain and Upper Drive - temporary striping placed
Crews have placed temporary striping on a portion of Iron Mountain Boulevard and Upper Drive, through the roundabout. Permanent striping will be applied once the weather improves.
Chandler Road/A Avenue - pipe installation expected to begin mid-February
Pipe installation at Chandler Road and 10th Street, is expected to begin in mid-February. Crews will lay pipe from Chandler Road to 10th Street, along A Avenue; between 10th and 9th Street; 9th Street between A and B Avenues; and, then down B Avenue, between 9th and State Street. Work hours on A Avenue, between 10th and 9th Streets, will be from 8 p.m. – 5 a.m. to minimize traffic impacts.
State Street – CenturyLink fiber conduit relocation work continues
CenturyLink crews continue to relocate fiber conduit on State Street, between A Avenue and the railroad crossing, in Lake Oswego. Crews are working from the intersection of State Street and A Avenue south to the railroad crossing. Work will occur from 8 p.m. – 5 a.m., Monday through Friday.
During this time, expect temporary delays as there will be a single lane closure to accommodate equipment on the northbound lane of State Street. For questions related to the CenturyLink work, please contact Scott Miller at 503-242-4144.
Highway 43 nighttime construction - continues near Holy Names Drive
Pipeline installation work on Highway 43 is progressing south towards West Linn. Crews are making good progress, installing about 100-150 feet of pipe each night, and are now working near Holy Names Drive (pictured above).
Crews have recently encountered rock while excavating the pipe trench. A rock hammer may need to be used over the next few days, to help get through this area, which may create an increase in noise.
A second crew continues to install pipe in West Linn along Highway 43 working north towards Lake Oswego. While it has been a slow start with deep excavations and unmarked utilities, crews are now installing pipe near Cedar Oak Drive. Work hours are Sunday to Thursday, 8 p.m. - 5 a.m.
Thank you to neighbors, commuters and businesses for your patience during construction on Highway 43.
