Chandler Road/10th Street - pipe installation expected to begin mid-late February

Pipe installation at Chandler Road and 10th Street, is expected to begin in mid-late February. Crews will lay pipe from Chandler Road to 10th Street, along A Avenue; between 10th and 9th Street; 9th Street between A and B Avenues; and, then down B Avenue, between 9th and State Street. Most work will be done during the day, from Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. To minimize traffic impacts, work will be conducted at night from 8 p.m. – 5 a.m. on A Avenue, between 10th and 9th Streets.

In mid-late February, Chandler Road and 10th Street between Iron Mountain Boulevard and A Avenue will be closed to through traffic. Detours will be in place directing traffic onto Iron Mountain Boulevard, Country Club Road and A Avenue. The closure is expected to be in place for about three weeks. Please watch for signage to safely direct you around the closure. During construction, access will be maintained for local traffic only within the closed area.

State Street – CenturyLink fiber conduit relocation work nearly complete

CenturyLink crews have relocated fiber conduit on State Street, between A Avenue and the railroad crossing, in Lake Oswego. Steel plates have been removed and temporary asphalt has been placed. Final paving is weather dependent. Some work remains for cable placement and accessing manholes, which will require some minor lane closures at night. For questions related to the CenturyLink work, please contact Scott Miller at 503-242-4144.

Highway 43 nighttime construction - continues near Holy Names Drive

Pipeline installation work on Highway 43 is progressing south toward West Linn (pictured above). Crews have recently encountered unexpected rock while excavating the pipe trench near Holy Names Drive, which has slowed their progress. A rock hammer is being used to help get through this area, which creates an increase in noise. Crews are working as quickly as they can to reduce the amount of time the rock hammer needs to be in use.

Most major work is occuring at night from Sunday - Thursday, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Some asphalt saw-cutting on Highway 43 in Lake Oswego is occuring sporadically throughout the week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please drive with caution while traveling through these construction zones and be sure to follow the directions given by flaggers during work hours. Steel plates and temporary pavement patches are present, which can leave the road rough and uneven - driving at slower speeds is recommended. These delays are temporary and we appreciate your patience during this time.

A second crew continues to install pipe in West Linn along Highway 43 working north toward Lake Oswego. Crews are now installing pipe between Cedar Oak Drive and Walling Way. Work hours are Sunday to Thursday, 8 p.m. - 5 a.m.

Thank you to neighbors, commuters and businesses for your patience during construction on Highway 43.
