Exploratory digging – State Street, from Foothills Road to B Avenue

This week, crews will continue working along the water pipeline route on a portion of State Street between Foothills Road and B Avenue. They will dig small holes in the roadway to ensure the pipeline route does not conflict with existing utilities. Workers will use a vacuum truck, small drill rig and small excavator. The holes will be repaired as work progresses. Work on State Street will occur between 8 p.m. – 5 a.m. During this time, single-lane closures will be in place with flaggers directing traffic. Please expect some temporary delays.

Chandler Road/ 10th Street– pipe installation expected to begin next week

Pipe installation at Chandler Road and 10th Street, is expected to begin next week. Crews will lay pipe from Chandler Road to 10th Street, then progress along A Avenue; between 10th and 9th Street and cross over to 9th Street. Most work will be done during the day, from Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. To minimize traffic impacts on A Avenue, between 10th and 9th Streets, work will be conducted at night from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

From March 9 through March 27, Chandler Road and 10th Street between Iron Mountain Boulevard and A Avenue will be closed to through traffic during work hours. Detours will be in place directing traffic onto Iron Mountain Boulevard, Country Club Road and A Avenue. Please watch for signage to safely direct you around the closure. During construction, access will be maintained for local traffic only within the closed area.

This week, crews will saw-cut portions of Chandler Road and locate utilities in the area, between 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., in preparation for construction.

Once the work is complete on Chandler Road and 10th Street, crews will begin placing pipe across A Avenue. Single lane closures will in place during the nighttime construction, but two-way traffic should be maintained.

Finishing items – Waluga Park to Chandler Road

Over the next several weeks, crews will be working along the pipeline that was installed from Waluga Park to Chandler Road to finish some minor tasks. Expect to see small crews and a few pieces of minor equipment near the sides of the road. At times, there may be single lane closures to accommodate equipment. Please watch for flaggers.

Highway 43 nighttime construction - both crews now working in West Linn

The Lake Oswego pipeline crew has moved past the city limits and both Highway 43 crews are now installing pipe in West Linn, between Arbor Drive and Shady Hollow Way. Soon only one crew will remain to install the rest of the pipe on Highway 43, another will place a more permanent pavement patch over portions of the roadway. Work hours are Sunday –Thursday, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Please drive with caution while traveling through these construction zones and be sure to follow the directions given by flaggers during work hours. Steel plates and temporary pavement patches are present, which can leave the road rough and uneven—driving at slower speeds is recommended. These delays are temporary, and we appreciate your patience during this time.

Final paving of the lane where the pipe was installed will occur once the construction is complete on Highway 43 and the new pipe is tested, likely this summer.

Thank you for your patience during construction on Highway 43.
