Foreman sustains work-related injury at microtunnel construction site in Gladstone

The safety of staff and crew members is the first priority for the Partnership and its contractors. Unfortunately, despite the precautions and safety measures in place, accidents on the work sites can still happen.

At 11:35 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, a foreman from Frank Coluccio Construction Co. fell off a ladder into the microtunnel construction pit located off River Road in Gladstone.

Crews immediately contacted 9-1-1, and first responders from the Gladstone Fire Department, Clackamas Fire District #1 and Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue arrived on site shortly after. Rescue personnel quickly secured the man to a gurney and used the contractor’s crane to help lift him out.

The worker was transported to Oregon Health and Science University, where he is currently in a serious, but stable condition. The incident is currently being investigated.

Our thoughts are with the foreman, his family and his crew, and the entire Partnership is hoping for a prompt recovery.
