B Avenue construction - pipe installation is underway
Crews have finished installing pipe along 9th Street, between A and B Avenues, and have progressed onto B Avenue, working towards State Street. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Crews are currently working between 9th and 8th Streets with the area between 10th and 7th Streets closed during work hours. Please watch for signage directing you safely around the closure. Equipment is being staged along the shoulders of the road and right-of-way near the work areas. The area where the pipe is installed will be temporarily paved as the crew progresses. Please drive with caution when traveling in the area.
Pipeline construction will enter the business district soon and is expected to last two to three months on B Avenue from 5th to State Street. During this time, a one to two block closure will be in place, while crews are working in the area and detours will be in effect.
The Partnership is committed to keeping B Avenue “Open for Business” during construction and to respond promptly to business and neighbor concerns. Pedestrian access to all businesses will be provided during construction and “Open for Business” signage will be placed on sidewalks and barricades in the work zone.
Highway 43 nighttime construction - permanent trench patch complete
This week, crews finished installing the permanent trench patch over the lanes where the pipe was installed. This patch makes the road smoother until the final paving can be done. Tomorrow, crews expect to place temporary striping along portions of the road where the permanent patch was installed.
Crews continue to replace concrete panels on Highway 43 in West Linn, between Mapleton Drive and Cedar Oak Drive. During this time, steel plates will be present in the roadway while the concrete cures.
Over the next few weeks, small crews will continue to work along the pipeline alignment installing valves, drains, laterals; making pipe connections; performing inspections; and other miscellaneous work. Work hours are Sunday –Thursday, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Please drive with caution while traveling through these construction zones and be sure to follow the directions given by flaggers during work hours.
McVey Avenue pipe bridge - work expected to begin in May
In May, crews expect to begin construction of the pipe bridge over Oswego Creek, near McVey Avenue, excavating rock and pouring the bridge’s footings.
This work will be done during the day between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday – Friday.
