B Avenue construction - pipe installation moves into the business district
Crews continue to install pipeline down B Avenue and have recently moved into the business district (pictured above). They’re currently working between 5th and 4th Streets, progressing towards State Street. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. The block between 5th and 4th Streets is closed to through traffic while crews are working in the area. Please watch for signage directing you safely around the closure. As the crews progress, subsequent block closures will be in place. Equipment is being staged within the one-block closures. The area where the pipe is installed will be temporarily paved as the crew progresses. Final paving will occur after the pipeline has been installed and tested, likely this summer. Please drive with caution when traveling in the area.
The Partnership is committed to keeping B Avenue “Open for Business” during construction and to respond promptly to business and neighbor concerns. Pedestrian access to all businesses will be provided during construction and “Open for Business” signage will be placed on sidewalks and barricades in the work zone.
McVey Avenue pipe bridge - surveying begins next week
Next week, crews will begin surveying the area near Oswego Creek for the upcoming construction of the pipe bridge, off McVey Avenue. In early May, the site will cleared, and temporary fencing and erosion controls will be installed. Afterwards, crews will begin forming and pouring the bridge’s footings. This work will be done during the day between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday – Friday.
Highway 43 nighttime construction - pipeline testing continues
The newly installed pipeline is being filled with water and is undergoing testing. Over the next few weeks, small crews will continue to work along the pipeline alignment, installing waterline connections, valves, drains, and laterals; performing inspections; and finishing other miscellaneous work. Work hours are Sunday –Thursday, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Please drive with caution while traveling through the construction zones and be sure to follow the directions given by flaggers during work hours.
Crews have replaced concrete panels on Highway 43 in West Linn, between Mapleton Drive and Cedar Oak Drive. Steel plates are currently present in the roadway while the concrete cures.
Final paving of the lane where the pipe was installed will occur once the construction is complete on Highway 43 and the new pipe is tested, likely this summer.
