Highway 43 - pipeline testing and concrete panel work continues
Last week, crews poured concrete as part of the panel restoration process. Next week, after the concrete has cured, crews expect to remove the steel plates in the roadway between Mapleton and Arbor Drives, and repave over the concrete panels. Neighbors may notice an increase in noise during this work.
Over the next month, small crews will continue working along the pipeline alignment on Highway 43, between Mapleton Drive and Laurel Street. Work includes making pipe connections, along with filling, hydro testing, disinfecting and chlorinating the pipeline. Once this work is complete, final paving of the lane where the pipe was installed. This is expected to begin sometime in June.
Nighttime work hours on Highway 43 are 8 p.m. – 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. During construction, one lane will be open at a time in most areas, with flaggers guiding traffic in each direction. Please drive with caution while traveling through the construction zones and be sure to follow the directions given by flaggers.
