Improvements to Waluga Reservoir 1 are underway
Waluga Reservoir 2 (WR2) Construction Update
WR1 improvements are underway
Crews have begun work inside the Waluga Reservoir 1 (WR1) to make scheduled improvements and connections with the new system. A new roof hatch was cut make room for materials and equipment to be brought inside. Crews started excavating a shaft in the floor of WR1 and will soon excavate another shaft just outside of WR1 to make a connection with a nearby pipe vault. During this time, neighbors should expect an increase in noise.
Next week, crews will install new components into the WR1, including a new mixing manifold, which will enhance circulation once WR1 is back online again.
Things continue to run smoothly for Waluga Reservoir 2 (WR2). The painting on the roof is finished and crews expect to paint the rest of the reservoir next month, depending on the weather.
Crews continue to install piping in the Parkhill Drive area to connect WR1 and WR2 with the new water system near Waluga Park. Please be cautious when walking on the trails to Waluga Park and nearby the site.
