Crews continue improvements to Waluga Reservoir 1
Waluga Reservoir 2 (WR2) Construction Update
WR1 improvements continue
Crews continue to make progress inside Waluga Reservoir 1 (WR1) with improvements and connections into the new system. Crews are excavating a shaft in the floor of WR1 and a second adjoining shaft just outside of WR1, to make a connection with a nearby pipe vault. During this time, neighbors should expect noise from rock chipping. Over the next few weeks, crews will install new components into the WR1, including pipe supports and a new mixing manifold, which will enhance water quality once WR1 is back online again.
Crews continue to install piping and electrical conduits (pictured above) in the Parkhill Drive area to connect WR1 and WR2 with the new water system near East Waluga Park. A cedar fence was recently installed between the reservoir site and an adjacent property. Over the next few weeks, weeds and ivy will also be removed from the site. Please be cautious when walking on the trails to East Waluga Park and near the work site.
No work will occur on Friday, July 3 or Saturday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.
