Bonita Road Pipeline

Crews recently finished tunneling under the railroad tracks on Bonita Road and, last night, the pipe was pushed through! Next week, the pipe casing will be filled with sand and the work pits (entrance and receiving) will be backfilled. The concrete barricades and other traffic barriers around the work site in the center lane of Bonita Road will be in place for the next couple of weeks as crews demobilize equipment, make pipeline connections and temporarily repave the area. While the site is in place, there will be no left turns permitted from 74th Avenue onto Bonita Road. Two-way traffic is still maintained on Bonita Road.

Pipe installation at the intersection of 72nd Ave. and Bonita Rd. is now complete!

Crews have also finished installing the pipeline through the intersection of 72nd Avenue and Bonita Road. Thank you to neighbors and commuters for your patience during this time. Pipe installation resumes on Bonita Road next week as crews progress towards Sequoia Parkway. A part of pipeline alignment will require crews to install the pipe under a 96-inch culvert between 72nd Avenue and Sequoia Parkway. While this work is being done, expect steel plates to be present in the roadway.

Work hours are 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday through Friday. Crews expect to install about 50 feet of pipe each night. As the pipeline is installed, the road will be temporarily patched. Final paving will occur after the pipe is pressure tested and disinfected, likely in early fall 2015.

Bonita Pump Station

Crews continue to work inside the pump station to install equipment (gauges, monitors) for the pumps and finish electrical systems. Outside the pump station, crews paved the site and installed wall panels. Next week, landscaping will be planted, fencing will be installed and the roof will be painted.

About Bonita Pump Station

The Bonita Pump Station will connect with several local water systems including Lake Oswego, Portland and Washington County. This supply collaboration will keep Tigard protected should one water supply become interrupted. Completion is expected in fall 2015.
