Bonita Road Pipeline

Crews completed pipe installation on Bonita Road from the railroad tracks to Milton Court and have finished demobilizing their equipment from the center lane. Left turns are now permitted from 74th Avenue onto Bonita Road.

Thank you to businesses, residents and commuters for your patience during the work on Bonita Road!

Work will now shift to the area south of the Bonita Road freeway overpass, just past Sequoia Parkway, to install last section of pipeline. This portion will connect the recently-installed pipeline with the pipeline that was tunneled under I-5 in May.

To complete this work, crews will first breakdown their storage yard off Sequoia Parkway and then remove the old, existing Bonita Pump Station, which is no longer in use. With the majority of construction activities moving off of Bonita Road, crews will now switch to daytime work hours. Starting next week, work hours will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The final paving of Bonita Road will occur after the pipeline is pressure tested and disinfected, likely in early fall 2015.

Next week, NW Natural will make some repairs to a gas line in Bonita Road. This work will occur during the day. Please watch for lane closures and flaggers.

Bonita Pump Station

Over the next few weeks, crews will be onsite to grade the areas around the Bonita Pump Station for landscaping. Crews will also continue installing the pump station’s irrigation system. Once this is complete, landscaping will be planted and fencing will be installed, including an entrance gate, around the site.

Work continues inside the pump station, where crews are installing equipment (gauges, monitors) for the pumps, finishing electrical systems, testing the HVAC system, and painting the pipelines and ceiling. As the Bonita Pump Station nears closer to completion, crews will test the pumps and onsite back-up generator. This work is expected to be done in the next month or so, however, the schedule is dependent on the pipeline installation along Bonita Road.

About Bonita Pump Station

The Bonita Pump Station will connect with several local water systems including Lake Oswego, Portland and Washington County. This supply collaboration will keep Tigard protected should one water supply become interrupted. Completion is expected in fall 2015.
