Mapleton Drive - pipeline installation progressing towards the water treatment plant
Over the last few weeks, crews have been working around several utilities. At times, they have needed to run a bypass pump around existing sewer lines while installing the new water pipe.
Crews are currently working their way up the hill on Mapleton Drive, and expect to install pipe near the treatment plant by the end of the month.
Road closure and detour route
During work hours, a detour is in place and no through traffic is allowed in the active work zone on Mapleton Drive. Please follow the detour signage directing traffic around the closure area.
The road is closed to through traffic at the active work zone as it moves along Mapleton Drive. Residents located east of the active work zone will need to use the detour route on Nixon Avenue, Elmran Drive and Cedaroak Drive during work hours (refer to detour map link above). Residents located west of the active work zone can use Mapleton Drive between their home and Highway 43 during work hours.
For more information about road closures and detours, refer to the guidelines.
Work hours and what to expect
Work hours on Mapleton Drive are Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Please note, crews will likely be working six-day weeks for the foreseeable future.
Neighbors can expect to see and hear excavators, generators, loaders, saw-cutters, compressors, pipe, steel plates, gravel and dump trucks in the work area, staging areas and right-of-way on Mapleton Drive. During work hours, there will be an increase in noise, truck traffic and vibration, depending on neighbors’ locations.
Crew members will notify affected residents who may have their driveways blocked during pipeline construction work hours—typically one to three days in advance—to explain which driveways will be impacted and coordinate parking.

Check out these helpful guidelines that were developed in collaboration with a taskforce of neighbors, City of West Linn councilors and staff, TVF&R, Partnership staff and contractor representatives.
