Old Town Neighborhood - daytime pipeline construction underway
Pipeline construction through the Old Town neighborhood is currently near the intersection of Leonard and Durham Streets. Work hours in Old Town are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. The area of Durham Street between Leonard and Wilbur is currently closed to through traffic, to facilitate construction and a detour is in place, however, neighbor access is being maintained at all times. During work hours, neighbors can expect to see and hear heavy equipment and vehicles, dump trucks, and materials, such as pipe, steel plates and gravel, during construction.
According to the contractor’s current plans, pipeline construction on Durham Street is expected to be complete by the end of October, however, this timeframe is subject to change. Once the crews are finished in this area, they plan to begin pipeline construction on either Ladd Street and through George Rogers Park or along McVey Avenue beginning at Erickson Street.
Pavement Restoration - Foothills Road
On Friday night, crews plan to finish restoring the pavement where the pipe was installed along Foothills Road and the parking lot behind the Lakewood Bay Shopping Center. During this time, lane closures will be in place, and flaggers will guide traffic through the intersections. Crews will also work along State Street next week to reinstall the traffic loops at the signals and restripe the new pavement. Please watch for flaggers and lane closures during these portions of construction. Work hours are 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday through Friday.
