Bonita Road Sidewalk Restoration

Tonight, crews will work along Bonita Road to restore the sidewalks and pour the concrete for the ADA ramps at the intersections of 74th Avenue, 72nd Avenue and Sequoia Parkway. During this time, the eastbound lane of Bonita Road will be closed and detours will be in place. Evening commuters are encouraged to avoid this area, if possible, or plan an alternate route.

Bonita Pipeline Construction

Crews have finished installing the pipeline from the Bonita Pump Station, under I-5 and the connection with the existing system in Lake Oswego, just off Bangy Road! Over the next month, the pipeline will undergo testing and disinfection. Afterwards, crews will begin restoring Bonita Road and any landscaping along the alignment that was disturbed or removed will be replaced. The final paving and restriping of Bonita Road is expected to occur sometime in the next month, depending on weather conditions.

Bonita Pump Station

In the next few weeks, the pump station will undergo testing and chlorination to begin the process of being put into service. Please note, the testing schedule is dependent on the pipeline testing and disinfection, and schedules are subject to change. Most of the site has been restored and crews will finish up some small, miscellaneous tasks around the pump station over the next several weeks.

Did You Know?

The new Bonita Pump Station is resilient against large seismic events, featuring discharge pumps with their own foundations and flexible couplings. These design features allow the pumps to move independently from the building during an earthquake. In addition, the building utilizes reinforced masonry shear walls that prevent crumbling.

About Bonita Pump Station

The Bonita Pump Station will connect with several local water systems including Lake Oswego, Portland and Washington County. This supply collaboration will keep Tigard protected should one water supply become interrupted. Completion is expected in fall 2015.
