McVey Avenue pipeline – night construction continues
Crews progressed across State Street and are currently installing pipe up McVey Avenue towards Erickson Street. Work hours are 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday. During night construction, crews will strive to keep noise to a minimum, however, neighbors should expect to see and hear heavy equipment and vehicles, dump trucks, and material, such as pipe, steel plates and gravel.
Please note: as construction moves closer to Erickson Street, crews expect to encounter a significant amount of rock, which will likely require the use of a rock hammer to facilitate pipe installation. During this time, please anticipate an increase in noise and vibration. Crews will work as quickly as possible to get through this area and the Partnership appreciates your patience during this phase of construction.
During work hours, lane closures will be in place and flaggers will be present to guide traffic through the construction zone. The traffic signal at the State Street/McVey Avenue intersection may also be turned off. Please expect some delays during this time. This portion of construction is expected to be complete in early 2016. To maintain safety, please drive slowly through the work area and obey flagger directions.
McVey Avenue pipe bridge – work underway
Crews continue to form and pour footings for the McVey Avenue pipe bridge. This work is being done during the day between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Boy Scout Troop 127 - Christmas Tree Fundraiser at George Rogers Park
Pipeline construction has already passed through George Rogers Park, however, materials and equipment are being stored nearby, and crews still have a presence in the area. Despite these potential disruptions, the Partnership encourages the community to continue its support of Boy Scout Troop 127’s annual Christmas Tree Fundraiser. They are open seven days a week—5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday and Sunday—until Sunday, Dec. 13.
