McVey Avenue pipeline – night construction progresses
Crews continue to install the new pipeline along McVey Avenue between Erickson and State Street. They’re currently working near the McVey Avenue bridge, progressing east. Work hours are 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday. During night construction, crews will strive to keep noise to a minimum, however, neighbors should expect to see and hear heavy equipment and vehicles, dump trucks, and material, such as pipe, steel plates and gravel. A few steel plates will remain in the roadway during the day.
PLEASE NOTE: Crews are encountering significant rock in the area, which requires the use of a rock hammer to facilitate pipe installation. The use of the hammer has led to an increase in noise and vibration. Crews are working as quickly as possible to get through this area and the Partnership appreciates your patience during this phase of construction.
During work hours, lane closures are in place and flaggers will be present to guide traffic through the construction zone. At times, the traffic signal at the State Street/McVey Avenue intersection may also be turned off. To maintain safety, please drive slowly through the work area and obey flagger directions. Please expect some delays during construction.
This final portion of pipeline in Lake Oswego is expected to finish in early 2016.
HOLIDAY WORK SCHEDULE: The night pipeline construction crew will be off from Monday, Dec. 21 through Jan. 3 for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. Work will resume at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 4, 2016.
