McVey Avenue pipeline – crews transitiong to daytime work hours
Last week, crews wrapped up night construction and switched to days on Tuesday, Jan. 12. Through next week, pipeline work hours on McVey Avenue are 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Crews are currently installing pipe on the west side of the bridge. During the day, lane closures are in place primarily in the eastbound lane and flaggers are present to guide traffic through the construction zone.
With higher traffic levels in this area, please expect some delays during the day on McVey Avenue and State Street and plan accordingly. To maintain safety, please drive slowly through the work area and obey flagger directions.
Thank you for your patience—this final portion of pipeline in Lake Oswego is expected to finish next month!
McVey Avenue pipe bidge – ongoing work continues near Oswego Creek
Work continues on the new pipe bridge that will carry the pipeline alignment over Oswego Creek. Crews are removing the forms for the bridge footings and will soon pour a concrete bearing nearby, which resists thrust from the water pipeline. Over the next few weeks, they’ll also make improvements to a sewer lateral, install a drain and put in a pipe vent. Near the end of January, crews will also begin placing the pipe supports and installing the pipe. Work is centralized around the creek near the McVey Avenue traffic bridge, off of the road. In the next few weeks, a crane will be mobilized onsite to place the pipe on the bridge. Work hours on the bridge are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
George Rogers Park – restoration underway
Restorations are ongoing to the field in George Rogers Park where the pipe was installed. The haul road has been removed and site grating is finished. Crews are currently placing a special sand base and preparing to plant sod in the areas where grass needed to be removed. Work hours for this portion of the project are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
