Water Treatment Plant Construction Update

Information about onsite work is outlined below. Please note, schedules are subject to change.

Washwater recovery basin – northwest of site

Insulation is now installed and the major backfill is complete for the basin. Thank you to neighbors for your patience during this work. Hand rail is now being placed, along with electrical duct bank and slabs for the pumps in the south end of the basin.

Administration building – north of site

Architectural work continues for the administration building. The roof is now installed and work has begun on the frames and windows! Over the coming weeks, brick veneer and siding will be placed. Plumbers and electricians continue to install the HVAC system, plumbing and electrical conduit throughout the structure. Insulation is also being installed.

Miscellaneous piping and site work

Crews have installed a new 48-inch overflow pipeline from the clearwell to the lagoons. Over the coming weeks, crews will install electrical duct bank from the electrical building to the administration building. Work involves excavating, placing conduit, and backfilling the trench. Neighbors close to the site should expect an increase in noise and vibration during these activities. In the next few months, an 8-inch water line for the City of West Linn will also be installed.

This spring, curb and gutter improvements are expected to take place along both the Mapleton and Kenthorpe frontages of the site. This is in preparation for the street resurfacing that will be conducted by the City of West Linn this summer.

Finished water pump station and clearwell – south of site

Crews are preparing the underground clearwell for disinfection, and next week will begin filling it. Startup and testing of the finished water pumps is expected to begin in late February!

New filters – northwest of site

Concrete pours are almost complete for the new filters! Mechanical and structural work continues, including installing inlet and outlet piping, connecting to the washwater basin and clearwell. Several mechanical deliveries are arriving on site for the filters.
