Bonita Road Pipeline Work near Fanno Creek begins March 7
Starting next week, crews will be working on a water pipeline located on Bonita Road, near Fanno Creek, next to the Bonita Villa Apartments. This work involves reconfiguring a portion of existing pipelines, to enable Tigard’s new Bonita Pump Station to be brought completely online.
An excavated work area near Fanno Creek will be present 24 hours a day, seven days a week for about two weeks. The work area will be securely fenced and traffic control devices will be placed to safely guide traffic around the area. Active work hours are 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. Work is expected to take about two weeks to complete.
During this time, both eastbound and westbound travel on Bonita Road will be maintained, however, the eastbound lane will shift to the center turn lane near Fanno Creek, to redirect traffic around the work area.
During construction, commuters and neighbors can expect to see and hear excavators, pipe, gravel and dump trucks. Equipment will be stored in the work area and along the shoulders of Bonita Road. To maintain safety, the sidewalk and bike lane located between SW 76th Avenue and Milton Court will be temporarily closed. Final paving will occur once the work is complete, however this is weather dependent.
