Water Treatment Plant Construction Update

It’s been a while since we’ve updated neighbors about work at the water treatment plant, so please read on for the latest news.

Work Hours

Due to the excessive heat wave upon us, the landscapers plan to start work an hour earlier each day for the next two weeks (6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays). Work will involve the use of small equipment already on site to pick up and place trees and hand work for planting shrubs etc. Any large landscaping trucks will access the site after 7 a.m.

This early start time has been approved by West Linn’s City Manager.

Over the last few weeks, hundreds of yards of soil has been placed in the planting areas and stormwater basins around the site. The first few batches of trees and shrubs have arrived, and will be planted over the coming weeks (weather permitting).

Unfortunately, landscaping installation has been slower than expected. All landscaping is now expected to be complete by late August. For security purposes, the temporary chain-link fence will remain in place until landscaping is complete in the public areas (outside the new security wall). However, portions of the fence may be removed as landscaping is completed in these areas. Thank you for your patience as we work to restore the site.

Pathway Ribbon-Cutting Event

To commemorate the new pedestrian pathway and celebrate completion of plant construction in the neighborhood, the Partnership plans to hold a ribbon-cutting event along the new pedestrian pathway later this summer. Stay tuned for more details, but expect some fun activities for the whole family and behind-the-scene tours of the new plant. We hope to see you there!
